More about this keycap set
How the Gradient Actually Looks
This isn't a random assortment of rainbow keys. The gradient flows left-to-right across each row of alpha keys, meaning your QWERTY row shifts from warm to cool tones as you type. The modifier keys (Shift, Enter, Space, etc.) use the same color family but in solid blocks—so your left-side modifiers pull from the pink-orange range while right-side modifiers land in blue-purple territory. The result reads as cohesive rather than chaotic, with enough color variation to make blank key spotting easy for touch-typists still building muscle memory.
The MDA Profile: Between Low and Tall
MDA profile occupies a middle ground that doesn't get discussed enough. Cherry profile keeps fingers close to the board with aggressive sculpting; SA lifts them high with deep spherical dishes. MDA splits the difference: taller than Cherry for better finger clearance between rows, shorter than SA to avoid the "tall keycap wobble" some users report. The sculpted rows (R1-R4) follow a gentle curve that mirrors natural finger reach without the steep angles of OEM. For users coming from laptop keyboards or low-profile boards, MDA offers a transitional height that doesn't feel like a leap.
Material and Construction
PBT plastic here runs matte and slightly textured—no glossy coating, no shine-through. The dye-sublimation process heats ink into the plastic itself, so the gradient colors are physically embedded rather than surface-printed. This matters for a gradient keycap: any wear would show as color loss, but dye-sub eliminates that failure mode entirely. Legends are similarly permanent, though this colorway keeps them subtle (likely dark gray or black) to avoid disrupting the rainbow effect.

Frequently Asked
Does the rainbow gradient work with a white keyboard case or only black?
The gradient spans warm to cool tones, so it pairs with neutral cases—white, black, gray, or silver—without clashing. A white case emphasizes the pastel end of the spectrum; a black case deepens the violet and blue sections. Avoid matching to a case color already in the gradient (coral, lime, etc.) or that hue will visually disappear.
How does MDA compare to XDA for all-day typing?
XDA is flat across all rows with no sculpting; MDA adds row-specific angles that reduce finger extension on the number row and curling on the bottom row. For extended sessions, MDA's ergonomic curve typically wins over XDA's uniform plane, though XDA fans prefer the consistent feel for gaming or non-standard finger positioning.
Is dye-sub better than double-shot for this price range?
At $34.99, double-shot molding in PBT is uncommon—most double-shot sets use ABS for cost reasons. Dye-sub PBT offers comparable legend durability with better resistance to shine and oils. The tradeoff: dye-sub can't produce light legends on dark keys (not relevant here given the light-to-medium gradient base), and color matching across large dye-sub runs can vary slightly. For a rainbow gradient where exact color consistency matters less than overall flow, dye-sub is the practical choice.
