The Summer Bunny Aesthetic

This isn't a generic pink set. The alpha base is a muted, dusty rose—closer to dried peony than bubblegum—providing enough saturation to read as intentional without overwhelming a desk setup. The modifiers drop slightly deeper into coral territory, creating subtle contrast that separates function from letter rows without jarring color blocking.

The bunny theme manifests in three ways: scattered full-body silhouettes on alphas (small, repeated, not centered), fruit illustrations on modifiers (watermelon wedges on Enter, peaches on Shift), and paw-print sublegends on the number row. Accent keys—Escape, Enter, Space—feature larger framed illustrations of a single bunny in a straw hat. The mint green used for leaf details and alternate Escape/Arrow keys keeps the palette from feeling one-dimensional.

How MDA Actually Types

MDA's spherical top creates a subtle pocket for fingertips compared to the flat planes of XDA or the cylindrical scoops of Cherry. The height—roughly 2mm taller than Cherry profile—adds a touch of key travel sensation without the finger gymnastics required by SA. PBT's natural grit gives the surface a matte, almost chalky texture that resists the polished shine that develops on ABS over months of use.

The dye-sub process leaves legends flush with the surface—no texture change under the fingers when you brush across the bunny graphics. For touch-typists, this means no distracting ridges on frequently used keys.

Compatibility Reality Check

Cherry MX cross stems fit Gateron, Kailh, Akko, JWK, and most mainstream switches. The 158-key kit's extended bottom row coverage handles standard 6.25u spacebar, 7u spacebar, and split 2.25u/2.75u configurations common in 75% and Alice layouts. No 40% support, no Choc low-profile compatibility.

Questions That Actually Come Up

How does MDA compare to Cherry profile for all-day typing?

MDA runs taller than Cherry—expect your wrists to sit slightly higher unless you use a wrist rest or floating posture. The spherical top distributes pressure differently than Cherry's cylindrical curve; some find it reduces finger fatigue during long sessions, others prefer the lower travel of Cherry. The PBT texture here is medium-grit, not sandpaper-rough.

Will the pink color match a white keyboard case?

The alpha pink carries enough warmth to avoid the "hospital white" clash that cooler pinks create against warm-white or beige cases. Against pure white (think Keychron Q1 in silver), the contrast is clean. Against cream or retro beige, the dusty rose reads as intentional vintage rather than mismatched.

Is dye-sub better than double-shot for illustrated designs like this?

Double-shot requires each color to be a separate physical plastic piece—feasible for simple legends, nearly impossible for detailed bunny illustrations with gradient shading. Dye-sub allows photographic-level detail and unlimited colors within the design. The trade-off: dye-sub works best on PBT's porous surface, which limits you to darker graphics on lighter bases (as seen here: dark pink/coral graphics on lighter pink). For this art style, dye-sub is the only practical manufacturing method.
