More about this keycap set

What's Actually in the Box

136 keys total. That's the full standard kit plus the extras: 1.75u shift for 65% layouts, stepped caps lock, split spacebar options (2.25u/2.75u), novelties in the numpad zone, and enough 1u mods to fill out 96-key compact boards. Weight comes to 400g—substantial without being excessive for shipping.

Profile: OEM (the default height pre-installed on most mass-market keyboards)

Material: PBT, ~1.4mm wall thickness

Process: Double-shot injection molding

Stem: Cherry MX cross, compatible with Gateron, Kailh, Outemu, Akko CS, and most mainstream switches

The double-shot construction means the legends are physically a second layer of plastic—white on the darker purples, soft lavender on the lightest keys. No pad-printing to wear through, no dye-sub fading on heavy-use keys like E or spacebar.

The Gradient in Practice

Direction matters with gradient sets. This one flows bottom-to-top: deepest purple on the home row, lightening through the number row into near-white on F1-F12 and the escape key. The modifiers (shift, tab, enter, backspace) carry the mid-tone lavender, creating horizontal bands that break up the vertical flow just enough to keep the board readable.

Under RGB lighting, the PBT diffuses rather than transmits—expect a soft glow on the legend edges if your switches have north-facing LEDs, not the full underglow you'd get from pudding caps. The gradient itself is printed via the double-shot process, so color boundaries are crisp where the molds meet, no bleeding between violet and lavender zones.

Pairing notes: the cool purple tones sit well against silver, white, or black cases. Warm beige or olive green boards create intentional contrast; raw aluminum can read slightly cold against this particular violet.

How OEM + PBT Actually Feels

OEM profile has that familiar sculpted curve—R4 (number row) tallest, dipping to R1 (spacebar row) lowest, with R2/R3 forming the typing dish. If you're coming from a stock Logitech or Keychron, this is the same angles your hands already know. The PBT surface has light grain, not glass-smooth like ABS, which translates to less finger slip during longer sessions.

The 1.4mm walls are standard for this price tier—thicker than thin ABS, not quite the dense clack of premium thick-PBT sets. Sound profile depends heavily on your switches and plate, but expect slightly muted bottom-out compared to ABS, with less high-frequency ping.

Compatibility Reality Check

Fits: 60% (61-key), 65% (68), 75% (84), TKL (87), 1800-style compact (96-98), full-size (104-108), and most oddball layouts in between. The 1.75u right shift and alternate bottom row configurations (1.5u-1u-1.5u-7u spacebar-1.5u-1u-1.5u for split spacebar fans) are included.

Does not fit: low-profile switches (Cherry LP, Gateron Low Profile), non-standard bottom rows on certain gaming keyboards (check your spacebar: 6.25u is standard, 6.5u or 7u require verification), or optical switches with different stem shapes.

Is This Actually a Deal?

At $34.99, you're paying roughly $0.26 per key for double-shot PBT with full layout coverage. For context: basic OEM PBT sets from major brands run $40-60 for fewer keys, and enthusiast-grade doubleshots (GMK, Domikey) start around $90-120 with longer production timelines. The trade-off is in thickness and colorway uniqueness—this is a mass-produced set, not a group buy with months of lead time.
