More about this keycap set

Is this set worth the $79.99 price point?

For the key count and profile, it sits in the mid-range. You're paying for the 123-key extended kit (not the bare-minimum 104), the Cherry profile tooling (more expensive to manufacture than OEM), and the multi-color dye-sub process. Comparable sets from established brands often run $60-90 with fewer keys. The monster theme is specific enough that you're either drawn to it or not—there's no utility in buying this if you don't connect with the aesthetic.

What keyboard colors work with this palette?

The sage green modifiers and lavender spacebar create interesting pairing options. A white or cream case picks up the alpha color and keeps things light. E-white, beige, or retro yellow cases lean into the sketchbook aesthetic. For contrast, a dark charcoal or forest green case would ground the lighter colors without clashing. Avoid bright reds or oranges—they'll fight the muted, slightly desaturated tones.

How does Cherry profile compare to what came on my stock keyboard?

Most pre-built keyboards ship with OEM profile—taller, with a more aggressive angle on the top surface. Cherry feels lower and flatter in comparison. The home row sits closer to your desk, which some typers find reduces wrist extension. If you've used a Leopold FC980M or any of the newer Keychron stock caps, you've already experienced Cherry profile. The transition from OEM takes a day or two of adjustment, then most people don't want to go back.

Will the doodle art wear off?

No. Dye-sublimation doesn't sit on the surface. The design is molecular—dye particles embedded in the plastic structure. You would need to physically sand through the keycap to remove it. The PBT material itself will outlast ABS alternatives in terms of surface texture, maintaining the matte finish rather than developing the smooth, oily patches that gamers call "shine."
