More about this keycap set

How the Gradient Actually Looks

The alpha block starts at a saturated royal purple—think the deep end of an amethyst, not neon or pastel. Moving north through the number row, the saturation drops in measured steps: plum at R2, dusty lavender at R3, finishing with soft lilac on the F-row and top modifiers. The spacebar, enter, and arrow keys carry the darkest violet as anchors, so your eyes track the lightening gradient upward rather than drifting across random colors.

This isn't a smooth blend like a printed sunset; double-shot molding creates hard boundaries between color zones, which reads as clean bands under desk lighting. The effect works best on boards with silver, white, or black cases—anything that doesn't compete. RGB backlighting won't show through (no transparent legends), but the matte PBT surface catches ambient light differently across the purple-to-lilac range, giving subtle depth without glare.

Cherry Profile: What You're Actually Getting

Cherry profile sits lower than OEM—about 2mm shorter at the home row—with sculpted rows that curve your fingers naturally from ASDF up to the number row. The R4 (bottom row) and R1 (top row) angle inward; R2 and R3 flatten slightly for resting. For daily typing, this means less finger travel and a flatter wrist position than SA or tall OEM sets.

The PBT here is the standard 1.4mm thick wall, textured enough to hide fingerprints but not sandpaper-rough. Double-shot construction: the legend plastic is injected first, the outer color second, so the character is physically a different piece of plastic fused to the cap. Zero wear-through risk, even on your WASD keys after years.

Common Questions

Does the purple gradient work with a black keyboard case?

Yes. The darkest violet on the alphas and spacebar sits close enough to black that the transition reads as intentional rather than jarring. The lilac top row provides contrast without washing out. Avoid pairing with bright yellow or orange cases—the gradient has enough warm undertones in the lighter sections that competing warm colors clash.

Double-shot vs dye-sub PBT: which lasts longer?

For solid colors and simple legends, double-shot wins. The legend is a separate plastic piece; you would need to physically grind through the entire cap to remove it. Dye-sub embeds ink into the surface—still permanent for practical use, but technically a coating. At this price point, double-shot is uncommon; most competitors use laser-etched ABS or dye-sub PBT.

Will this fit my Gateron Brown switches?

Any Cherry MX clone—Gateron, Kailh, Outemu, Akko CS, JWK—uses the same + stem. The caps seat firmly with standard tolerance; no wobble reported on Gateron or Kailh boxes in community reviews. If your board has non-standard bottom row (Razer, some Corsair), check your spacebar and modifier sizes—this set includes 6.25u and 7u spacebars, plus 1.25u/1.5u/1.75u mods.

Is $35 a fair price for double-shot PBT?

At MSRP $59.99, this competes with Akko and Drop's entry sets. At $34.99, it's undercutting most double-shot PBT options by $10-15. The tradeoff: no alternate colorways, no themed packaging, no coiled cable included. You're paying for the caps and the gradient execution—nothing else.
