More about this keycap set
What's in the Box
142 keys total. The kit includes standard ANSI layout coverage plus the less common keys needed for 96%, 98%, and 1800-compact layouts—often missing from budget sets. You'll find stepped Caps Lock, split spacebar options (2.25u/2.75u), and the various 1u bottom row keys that 75% and compact 1800 users need. Weight comes in at 350g, typical for thick-walled PBT.
The Colorway
Alphas: Deep crimson red, not quite burgundy, with enough saturation to read clearly under warm desk lighting.
Modifiers: Near-black charcoal with a faint warm undertone that keeps it from looking like generic off-the-shelf black.
Accents: The theme manifests in the legends themselves—custom iconography on Enter, Escape, and the arrow cluster suggests ritual and offering without crossing into edgelate territory. The dye-sub process keeps these graphics crisp; they're physically part of the plastic, not sitting on top.
No shine-through. No RGB compatibility. The PBT is opaque and the legends are dark-on-dark in places, which means this set prioritizes aesthetic coherence over visibility in dim rooms.
How It Types
Cherry profile means sculpted rows—R1 through R4 each sit at slightly different heights and angles, with the home row (R2) sitting lowest. Your fingers travel less vertical distance compared to OEM, which compounds over long typing sessions. The PBT here has a medium-fine texture: not sandpaper-rough like some budget PBT, not polished smooth like ABS. It'll maintain that texture for years; PBT doesn't develop the glossy wear patches that ABS does.
The dye-sub legends will outlast the keycaps themselves. The process heats ink into the plastic surface, so there's no physical layer to wear off. After two years of daily use, the spacebar texture might smooth slightly, but the lettering will look identical to day one.
Compatibility Check
Cherry MX cross stem. Fits Gateron, Kailh, Outemu, Akko, and most mainstream switches. The 142-key count covers:
- 60% (61-key)
- 65%/68-key
- 75%/84-key
- TKL (87-key)
- 96-key and 98-key compact
- Full-size (104/108-key)
No keyboard included. Just keycaps.
Is This Set Worth the Discount?
At $29.99, you're paying roughly $0.21 per key for full PBT dye-sub with complete layout coverage. Comparable sets from established brands typically run $45-60 for equivalent key counts. The trade-off is brand recognition and potentially QC consistency—budget dye-sub can occasionally show slight legend alignment variance, though PBT dye-sub has fewer failure modes than double-shot molding.
The $59.99 MSRP positions this against mid-tier competition; at the current price, it's competing with entry-level sets that usually cap at 104 keys and skip the compact layout support.
FAQ
Does the Blood Sacrifice theme include actual blood or gore imagery?
No. The theme is executed through color naming and subtle symbolic iconography—think ritual circles, chalice motifs, stylized flame elements. The crimson/charcoal palette carries the aesthetic without graphic content that would limit where you could reasonably use this board.
How does Cherry profile compare to what came on my stock keyboard?
Most prebuilt keyboards ship with OEM profile, which sits about 1-2mm taller overall. Cherry profile feels lower and more compact under your fingers. If you've used a Keychron stock set, you've experienced OEM. Cherry reduces finger travel and tends to sound slightly deeper/thockier due to the shorter stem engagement, though sound depends heavily on your switches and case.
Will this fit my Keychron Q1 / Akko 5075 / GMMK Pro?
Yes. All three use Cherry MX-compatible switches and standard ANSI layouts. The Q1 and 5075 are 75% boards (82-84 keys); the GMMK Pro is also 75% with a rotary encoder. This set includes the 1.75u right Shift and extra bottom row 1u keys these layouts require. The GMMK Pro's encoder key is not covered—you'll keep your stock key or source a matching artisan.
